Come Share Our Wonderful Center!
Situated on 300 acres of forest and
meadow in northern
Vermont, Milarepa Center offers programs based on
traditional Tibetan Buddhist meditation
practices.
This past weekend we
enjoyed an in-depth program exploring
conscious living and and dying.
Participants received a great deal of
helpful information on how to best
prepare their minds for the death time,
as well as how to best help others going
through this often traumatic transition.
One tremendous way to prepare for
death is to purify, purify, purify!
Since many of us find anger, desire,
confusion, loneliness, pride, jealousy,
anxiety and other afflicted states in our
minds, purification is the best way to
transform these delusions.
***
Our next program will be a Nyung Ne
Purification Retreat from the evening of
October 24 to morning on October 27.
Please see more information below!!
With our best wishes,
Amy Miller,
Director Jeff Garnette, General
Manager

the Fun and Get Your Hands Dirty in the Rich
Soil at Milarepa Center
The countryside, as you can see from our view
(above), is spectacular, please join us for
an "outside" day this Saturday (Oct. 18) at
our Autumn Work Party.
Bring your work gloves and shoes and help us
with a variety of tasks for our winter
preparation such as stacking our wood, wrapping
the foundation of the house, window washing,
etc. Lunch will be served.
This is a great -- and fun -- way for you
to make a contribution to this wonderful center.
Please e-mail Jeff Garnette at
milarepa@milarepacenter.org or
call 802.633.4136 if you're able to come so we
can prepare enough lunch, and let us know if
you'd like to spend the night.
Thank you!

October 24 to October 27
Nyung Ne Purification Retreat
Nyung Ne retreat is a Chenrezig (the Buddha of
Compassion) practice from the Kriya
("Action") class of Tantra.
In
each of the four daily session we practice the
sadhana of Chenrezig which involves
meditating on bodhicitta
(the aspiration to attain enlightenment in order
to benefit all beings), visualizing
Chenrezig,
reciting prayers and mantras, and performing
prostrations.
A Nyung Ne retreat also includes periods of
fasting and strict silence, and is a
powerful, quick and effective method
to both purify an enormous amount of negativity
and collect a vast amount of merit.

You
do not have to have had any initiations prior to
this retreat,
but pre-registration is required to attend.
