We decided to send an
interim e-letter as we had the
most wonderful Family Camp and
wanted to share some of the fun
photos from it.
The camp
was fantastically organized by
Kasia Beznoska and Lisa Landaw
and entertained about 20
children and their parents.
Activities included painting pet
rocks, taking nature hikes, and
creating portable altars
complete with mini waterbowl
offerings and marvelous
decorations as you can see in
some of the photos below.
There were dedication circles, a
fire purification ceremony, the
annual bonfire and delicious
roasted marshmallows (this
year's work study participant
A'lynn Hayward treated everyone
to his famous campfire blueberry
pies!) and the endearing talent
show where we found we had a
multitude of talented
violinists. The camp concluded
with an enchanting play on the
life story of the Buddha. It was
a time to be treasured with a
number of families joining us
from the Kadampa Center, our
sister center in North Carolina.
Some kids are counting the days
until next year's camp and we
can't wait.

We also sadly bid farewell
to work study participant, Emily
Fuller, (below
right), who was a
tremendous help this summer in
the garden, cooking, and working
with the kids at Family Camp. We
wish her all the best as she
starts her third year at Smith
College in Northampton, MA.
Don't
miss our upcoming Open House
Festival Day, Sunday, August 15
from noon-4:30pm with teachings
by Ven. Choden Rinpoche and a
free Tibetan concert by renowned
musician Penpa Tsering. We are
also gearing up for the
Kalachakra Initiation weekend,
August 20-22. Don't miss this
unique opportunity to receive
the blessing of this rare
highest yoga Tantra initiation.
It's a tremendous way to connect
the entire region with this
system of world peace.
Ven. Choden Rinpoche continues a
program at our sister center,
Kurukulla Center in the Boston
area teaching from Thursday,
August 26 through Sunday, August
29. Rinpoche will talk on the
meaning of the mantra of the
Buddha of Compassion: Om Mani
Padme Hung and give commentary
on the most profound text
The Gelug/Kagyu Tradition of
Mahamudra. In addition,
on Saturday, August 28, Rinpoche
will consecrate the new stupa at
Kurukulla Center so don't miss
this unique ceremony and see
this new shrine in all its
glory. For more information,
please contact Kurukulla Center
at (617) 624-0177 or see their
website:

include talks on the Six
Perfections, Guru Devotion, and
Emptiness. Meditation continues

from 7-8am and a final Wednesday
night on August 11 at 7pm. Our
last Ritual Training class will
be held Wednesday, August 25
from 6:30-8:30pm when we will
review how to set up a
consistent meditation practice
and do some more formal practice
together. For additional
