Recollections by Wendy Hobbs

I asked the question “how can I repay the kindness of my teacher, Lama Zopa Rinpoche?” Several days later I received a phone call asking if I would become the director of Milarepa Center. Needless to say I was speechless but managed to say yes.

My son, Dahmay was kind enough to help out and so together we ran the center for four years trying to keep to Center financially afloat.

The winters were very quiet but spring and summer always brought many volunteers to help with the gardens and outdoor programs and kids camp.

Milarepa Center will always feel like home to me and my family and for that I am forever grateful.

OUR AFFILIATION

Milarepa Center is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, also known as the FPMT. This means that our Center follows the spiritual direction of Lama Zopa Rinpoche and uses FPMT’s educational programs and materials, as well as registered FPMT spiritual teachers for programs and is created in the lineage of Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Each FPMT center is a individually incorporated 501c3 non-profit legal entity and is responsible for its own governance and finance.
